This sentiment was recently echoed by Travis’ father, Ed Kelce, in an interview with The Sunday Morning Herald.
Ed Kelce, while expressing optimism about the compatibility of Swift and his son, couldn’t help but voice his worries, acknowledging the challenges that come with a high-profile romance. “I won’t pretend that I don’t worry about it; he is my son, and I worry about him because they will have some challenges in their relationship for sure,” Ed candidly stated. However, he believes in the couple’s potential, asserting that they simply need to navigate the unique circumstances that fame brings.
Being no stranger to the limelight, having raised two football stars, including Travis’s brother Jason, who plays for the Philadelphia Eagles, Ed is adjusting to a new level of attention since Travis and Taylor became an item. Despite Swift’s global fame, Ed appreciates her down-to-earth nature. “She’s probably the most famous person in the world, but she doesn’t seem like it; she’s so warm and so gracious,” Ed remarked.

Recounting the awkward encounter, Ed shared, “I was at Travis’ house, and I didn’t recognize her; my girlfriend was not impressed with me!” Nevertheless, the Kelce and Swift families seem to have found common ground, even bonding over shared interests, as Ed watched the Super Bowl with Taylor’s father, Scott. Ed humorously pointed out, “Scott played college football, so he was right into it; I think he likes that his daughter is dating a football player and not a musician.”
One aspect of Swift that has won over Ed is her humility, particularly in unexpected situations. “She loves football so much, and she sets a good example during games. I was so shocked that during the Super Bowl, my buddies and I left some rubbish near us, and when Taylor got up, she stopped and picked it all up and put it in the trash,” Ed revealed.

In a previous interview with PEOPLE in October, he recounted an incident where Swift voluntarily cleaned up a suite after a game. “And I’m just thinking, I don’t think she got the diva memo.
